| When we allowed George W. Bush to steal the presidency, we the majority, sent the message that we were powerless. Shame. We were all wrong. We had the power to mobilize to start a bloodless revolution. Four years later our selected president says, “The world changed on September 11 and since that day we have changed the world.” His subliminal mantra to justify the war on Iraq had convinced [far too many] Americans of the link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11. It does not matter if the famous weapons of mass destruction were never found, Bush has weapons of his own. With a smirk on his face he continues to poison the mind of those he panders in order to get their votes in November. “Although we did not find weapons of mass destruction, we were right to go to Iraq”, “He had the capability, he could have…” Is America listening? Is America aware that there is parallel between Saddam and Bush? Can we not see the similarity of dictatorship? Don’t be so sure that this shameless administration would not try to postpone the Presidential Election. If there is another war let it be our own, the one we did not have the guts to fight in 2000. I will be in the first row. Monique Frugier, July 14, 2004. |
