Memorial Day 2005: open letter to George Bush

Mr. President,

In your weekly radio address you said:” Today a new generation of Americans is making its own
sacrifice on behalf of peace and freedom, and some have given their lives.”

No Sir. 1,656 Americans did not give their lives.  You took their lives; you sent them to Iraq to die.
Those brave soldiers gave their lives on behalf of your fabricated lies.
12, 348 U.S soldiers have been wounded, broken bodies and souls.  You destroyed their lives on
behalf of your fabricated lies.

On March 20, 2003 you said:” Our nation enters this conflict reluctantly.” You lied to our nation, you
lied to the world. Will you be a man of courage and respond to the inquiry submitted to you regarding
the “Downing Street Memo”? Will you?

On Memorial Day, will you honor those who could not go on and committed suicide? Will you honor
the thousands innocent Iraqi civilians, the young Iraqi children who never had a chance to learn how
to walk and play?
How dare you speak about “culture of life”?

Mr. President, I am still wondering how you can sleep at night, how you can smile and lie at the same
time.
May you be haunted every Memorial Day by the crimes you have committed in Iraq.
